Meet Carlos Amestoy
- Carlos Amestoy grew up in Toronto Ontario and dedicated most of his waking hours to hockey. His hard work and determination made up for his lack of size, and allowed him to be equipped with skills that contributed to his success for many years in the game. His love of hockey meant he was a student of the game, always looking for ways to improve himself to give him an upper hand on his opponents.
- Carlos Amestoy played his way through the minor hockey loop in the GTHL. Following the conclusion of his draft year spent with the Toronto Red Wings, he accepted a full scholarship to the University of Maine and was drafted to the Guelph Storm in the eighth round. Amestoy played his two years of Tier Two Junior in Toronto for the Toronto Junior Canadiens. In his rookie season with the Canadians, he recorded 25 points as a rookie in 43 games. The following season he tallied 49 points in 49 games. He then moved on to the University of Maine as a true freshman. He did not record any points in his time at Maine and left in November of his sophomore season (second year), to play for the Saginaw Spirit in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League). Here he recorded 17 points in 35 games.
- Carlos shuffled around a little bit in his overage year, but found his place with the Woodstock Slammers in the MJHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) where he tallied 37 points in 26 games. Carlos took his career to CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) to play for the Guelph Gryphons for three seasons. In his first season, Carlos notched one point in 28 games. His second season, he logged 26 points in 25 games, and 21 points in 18 games in his third season.
- Carlos graduated from the University of Guelph with three-year General Bachelor of Arts degree playing at the professional level for the Utah Grizzlies, where he recorded 11 points in 22 games.
- Carlos has helped to run hockey camps around the city over the years out of season. He enjoys working with kids who like to learn, and are motivated to excel to the next level. His personal experiences have a great deal to offer youth hockey players and as he continues to be a student of the game, his program will be developed to prepare players for the next stages in their careers.

Q & A with Pratt
- What made you want to become a strength coach?
Being a young athlete and being competitive was important to me. I trained myself with little knowledge. I was forever curious on what was the best way to train. Being intrigued with physical injury treatment – specially of myself – I was drawn to physical therapy knowing I could help competitive athletes. Steering my commitment to work with athletes, I became certified in strength and conditioning. I want athletes to improve in a healthy and efficient manner. I take great pleasure in empowering young athletes to reach their competitive goals.
- Why is In-Tech important to you?
In-Tech is our baby. In-Tech is the result from our years of hard work and sacrifice to create a service that is our creative interpretation of a mountain of research and life experiences. In-Tech is our mark on the profession of strength and conditioning.
- What’s your motivation to pushing your clients to be their best?
In high-level athletics the difference between achieving our goals and missing them are fractions of an inch or milliseconds. Their best effort is a reflection of my best effort.
- What’s your motivation to continually push yourself to be your ultimate best?
Helping others be their personal best.
